A pair of crooks recently turned an area pharmacy drive-through into a plow-through when they crashed a front loader into the building and stole prescription
drugs, according to Jacksonville police.
On Tuesday, construction workers were laying bricks to fix the gaping hole created during a burglary at the Premier Pharmacy in Springfield.
According to a police report, a pair of crooks broke into the pharmacy on Eighth Street and left more than just a mess behind.
The thieves stole a front end loader from a nearby construction site, plowed through the fence and drove the construction equipment up the street to the pharmacy.
When officer arrived, they found the front loader in front of the pharmacy drive through.
The entire burglary was caught on tape. Surveillance images of the crime shows that once the culprits were inside they broke into a cabinet, swiped thousands of dollars worth of prescription pain meds and stuffed them into a bag before walking off.
More than $13,000 worth of oxycodone and morphine, two popular painkillers that are often abused or resold on the streets, were stolen in the heist.
Police also found some of the clothes the pair was seen wearing in the video in an alley nearby, but both thieves were wearing dark colored masks throughout the tape leaving little
information for detectives.
Investigators said they questioned one man who they suspected was involved in the burglary, but that man was not arrested or charged.
